FKG ULM Holds Meeting to Develop Vision, Mission, Goals, and Targets of Study Programs for the Period of 2025–2029
Banjarmasin, April 23, 2025 – The Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) held a Meeting to Develop Vision, Mission, Goals, and Targets (VMTS) of Study Programs for the period of 2025–2029 on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at the FKG ULM, Banjarmasin.
This meeting was attended by faculty-level leaders, study program managers, and a number of external stakeholders who play a role in the education and health service process, including representatives from RSGM Gusti Hasan Aman, RSUD Ulin, RS Bhayangkara, RSD Idaman Banjarbaru, PDGI Pengwil South Kalimantan, as well as PDGI branches from Banjarmasin and Banjarbaru, PKM Kelayan Timur, PKM Gadang Hanyar, PKM Pekapuran Raya, and the FKG ULM Alumni Association.
Head of the PSPPDGPP Study Program, Dr. drg. Debby Saputera, Sp.Pros., explained that the preparation of the VMTS is the foundation for the direction of development of dental education institutions at ULM.
“Vision is a picture of the future that we want to achieve and becomes the direction of the institution’s activities. Mission is the implementation of the tridharma of higher education. Goals and targets are prepared in a measurable, relevant, and clear time frame to ensure that learning outcomes and graduate quality can be achieved effectively,” he explained.
The re-drafting of the VMTS was carried out to adjust the direction of study program development with the dynamics of community needs, the development of dental science, and national policies in the fields of higher education and health. The goal is to build understanding, commitment, and consistency in managing study programs in order to be able to produce competent dentists who are responsive to the challenges of the times.
The preparation of the VMTS is carried out through several systematic stages, namely:
- Internal coordination of the drafting team to determine the schedule and work mechanism,
- Review of previous documents and consultation with the leadership,
- Discussion with external stakeholders to obtain input and validation,
- Improvement of the initial concept, and
- Finalization of the concept which will be further consulted with the Faculty Senate.
This meeting marks the commitment of FKG ULM in preparing measurable and quality-oriented medium-term strategic steps. Through collaboration with partners and alumni, the VMTS that is prepared is expected to become a reference document in the implementation of all education, research, and community service activities.
The preparation of this VMTS includes two study programs, namely the Dentistry Study Program (PSKG) and the Dentist Professional Education Study Program (PSPPDGPP).
With the preparation of mature and participatory planning documents, FKG ULM is determined to continue to improve the quality of education services, strengthen cooperation networks, and produce professional, adaptive, and globally competitive dentist graduates.
