ULM Sends Three Groups of Student Entrepreneurs to the XV KMI EXPO in Kendari
Kendari – Southeast Sulawesi – The Indonesian Student Entrepreneurship Expo (KMI Expo) is an event that is always awaited every year which is a vehicle for creativity and the fighting spirit of young entrepreneurs. This year, Halu Oleo University had the opportunity to host the XV KMI Expo which brought in 287 universities by displaying around 648 products which will be held for 3 days, namely 23-25 October 2025.
Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) sent three groups of student entrepreneurs through the results of a selection that had previously been carried out. The three business groups are Pevtita Sasirangan which is a business in the creative industry with products such as cloth, sasirangan bags and others, then HYSCell which is a business in the manufacturing and technology sector using hydroponic tools, and Kickass Arena which is a business in the field of fitness services, trade and tourism. The existing products will be presented in front of a panel of judges by each group of student entrepreneurs.
The 2024 KMI Expo XV activity will be a platform for young entrepreneurs to share knowledge, experiences, and best practices in facing challenges in the era of disruption and encourage the creation of a collaborative network between young entrepreneurs and relevant stakeholders, such as investors, mentors, and industry experts.
This activity is also intended as a meeting place for student entrepreneurs from all over Indonesia who receive business funding from the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs of the Ministry of Education and Culture through the Student Entrepreneurship Program (P2MW) coaching program to compete with each other, introduce their products and also build networks.
“This event is a very important momentum, especially for students to explore entrepreneurial potential, share knowledge, expand networks,” said the Chairperson of the KMI EXPO XV Executive Committee, Dr. Sarinah, S.P., M.Si.
In her report at the Opening of the KMI Expo XV which took place at the Halu Oleo University Auditorium, Dr. Sarinah also expressed her happiness to be able to welcome guests from various universities throughout Indonesia by facilitating as many as 400 tents.
In line with the Chief Executive, Halu Oleo Rector Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zamrun Firihu, S.Si., M.Si., M.Sc was also enthusiastic and warmly welcomed the thousands of guests who attended and gathered to show their best products in front of the jury. He also hopes that this activity can strengthen the relationship between universities throughout Indonesia that will fill the golden Indonesia in 2045.
“Hopefully, the Student Expo activity can further guarantee and strengthen the relationship between all students in Indonesia who we know for sure in 2045, you are the ones who will fill the golden Indonesia,” he said.
The activity, which was also attended by the Head of Creativity, Interest, Talent and Entrepreneurship of Belmawa Students, Jobih, S.A.P, Dean and Vice Dean at Halu Oleo University, Head of LLDIKTI Region IX and XVI, went very lively and began with a mondotambe dance performance as a form of respect and welcoming invited guests and continued with a procession by representatives of each university wearing their respective traditional clothes from the opening ceremony venue to the venue in the open field of Halu Oleo University.
