ULM Ranked 42nd Nationally and 1st in South Kalimantan in the 2024 4ICU (UniRank) Ranking
Towards the end of 2024, Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) has again received international recognition as the number one university in South Kalimantan. The ranking was carried out by a credible world university ranking institution, namely uniRank, which is more popularly known as 4 International Colleges and Universities (4ICU). Based on 4ICU’s assessment, ULM is also ranked 42nd in the Top Indonesia University Ranking, making it the top-ranked university in the Kalimantan region. The ranking of universities by 4ICU or UniRank is based on several criteria, including:
- Having a permit, license, or accreditation from an appropriate Indonesian higher education organization. In this case, until this news was published, ULM has been accredited as Excellent by BAN-PT;
- Offering at least a 3-year diploma or master’s degree or doctoral degree. In this case, ULM has at least 116 study programs ranging from diploma, bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, to professional levels;
- Lectures prioritize the traditional format, which is done face-to-face.
4ICU conducted the ranking to provide non-academic rankings of the best universities in Indonesia and the world based on valid website metrics and without any bias and influence, which are provided by independent web intelligence sources and not data collected by the universities themselves.
ULM Ranked 45th in the 2024 SiR Ranking
According to the Scimago Institutions Rankings (SiR) version, ULM in 2024 was ranked 45th out of universities throughout Indonesia. This ranking makes ULM the top university in the Kalimantan region. The ranking can be seen on the page https://www.scimagoir.com/rankings.php?country=IDN.
The ranking by SiR is carried out annually from the results obtained during a five-year period ending two years before the ranking edition. SiR provides overall statistics of scientific publications and other institutional outputs. Each indicator is calculated from a combination of different indicators. The three main indicators used are research performance 50 percent, innovation results 30 percent, and social impact measured by the visibility of the university’s website 20 percent.
ULM Ranked 31st in the 2024 EduRank Ranking
In the EduRank ranking, ULM rose to 31st place from 47th place in 2023. This ranking also makes ULM the top university in the Kalimantan region. The ranking can be seen on the page https://edurank.org/geo/id/.
The EduRank ranking is based on three indicators, namely: Research results (45%), Non-academic excellence (45%), Alumni influence (10%). The ranking is based on the analysis of 1.71 million citations from 996 thousand academic publications at 562 universities in Indonesia, 700 alumni, and other reference databases, including Ahrefs.
