Grand Launching of Evo Antasari III, ULM Wasaka Team Targets Top 3 Ranking in KMHE 2024
Banjarbaru – The Wasaka Team of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) held a Grand Launching of a new car named Antasari EVO III at the Peak of ULM’s 66th Anniversary (21/9/2024). In the hallway of the ULM Banjarbaru Auditorium, the car was displayed and seen by the Rector along with the leadership and hundreds of students and guests who came.
General Manager of the Wasaka Team Arifah Pagis said that the Antasari EVO III car managed to enter the top 4 (four) in the 2024 Energy Efficient Car Contest and will race at the Jakarta e-Prix International Circuit (Ancol Circuit) on October 6-10, 2024.
“Alhamdulillah, this year we are finalists in the Gasoline internal combustion engine urban car category organized by PUSPRESNAS Kemendikbudristek,” Pagis explained in Banjarbaru, Sunday. In addition to this competition, the Wasaka Team this year also participated in other competitions that were still related to the design of environmentally friendly technology, including PLN ICE and Shell Eco Marathon.
Assisted by PT Adaro Energy Indonesia, the Wasaka Team designed, developed and built a car that was much lighter and more fuel efficient. The previous car model, the Antasari Evo II, is said to weigh 150 kilograms.
The Antasari Evo III is designed to have better specifications, where the chassis used is a monocoque chassis type wrapped in a full carbon composite body so that its weight is lighter, which is around 68 kilograms. In addition, the Wasaka ULM Team also said that they had made several modifications such as wiring, throttle, ecu, tuning, valve timing adjustments, and updating other components that could make the Antasari Evo III able to go up to 100 km / H.
This year, the Wasaka ULM Team has a target to achieve a race achievement that is much more efficient than the previous year with a target of 400 km / l. In addition, with Antasari Evo III, the Wasaka Team was able to enter the top 3 in the MPD Gasoline class at KMHE 2024.
Previously, the best achievement ever achieved by the Wasaka team was 2nd place in the Process Design and Production Management category and 2nd place in the Body Design and Aerodynamics category at the 2020 KMHE event. In addition, 3rd place in the Urban Category in the MPD Gasoline Class at the 2021 KMHE event. This competition certainly has a very important meaning for the Wasaka ULM team in order to encourage fighting spirit, increase motivation and innovation and creativity in developing energy-efficient cars.
