HIMA TEKPEND Holds National Seminar Presenting Rian Fahardhi and Mayor of Banjarmasin
Banjarmasin – The Educational Technology Student Association (HIMA TEKPEND) of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) successfully held the National Seminar on the Indonesian Student Education Meeting (TEMA) on September 12, 2024 which took place at the Lecture Theater building, FEB ULM Banjarmasin with the theme “Modern Era Education: Building a Bridge between Tradition and Transformation”.
By carrying this theme, HIMA TEKPEND succeeded in presenting great speakers including the Mayor of Banjarmasin H. Ibnu Sina, S.Pi., M.Sc., Coordinator of the Educational Technology Study Program, FKIP ULM Dr. Susanti Sufyadi, S.Pd., M.A. and also a content creator who is often called the President of the Noisy District or President of Gen Z, namely Rian Fahardhi.
In his remarks, Rifkha Adji Zulfan as the person in charge of the TEMA National Seminar expressed his pride in the implementation of this great activity. Adji also did not forget to thank the speakers who were present, Vice Dean 1 of FKIP ULM Prof. Dessy Arisanti, lecturers and education staff of the Educational Technology study program, seminar participants and all students and committees who had helped make this national seminar a success.
The National Seminar of the Indonesian Student Education Meeting is one of the major activities in the series of Educational Technology Festivities (STEP) 2024 events. The activity, which was also attended and opened directly by Vice Dean 1 of FKIP ULM Prof. Dessy Arisanti, was attended by more than 170 participants from various institutions and attended by all lecturers and education staff of the Educational Technology study program.
The discussion began with a presentation of material by the Coordinator of the Educational Technology Study Program of FKIP ULM Dr. Susanti Sufyadi, S.Pd., M.A. which was moderated by Lazaro Kumala Dewi, S.Pd., M.Pd. or better known as Mrs. Lala. In this first session, the discussion was very interactive, especially when Dr. Susanti read one of the children’s story books that invited laughter from the entire room.
As the second resource person, the Mayor of Banjarmasin H. Ibnu Sina, S.Pi., M.Si. discussed a lot about education problems in South Kalimantan. Many participants were interested in the issue so they raised several questions which were then immediately responded to by him.
The discussion session continued in the afternoon after ISHOMA. Rian Fahardhi, as the nickname attached to him, delivered the material in a very relaxed manner in accordance with most of the audience in the room who were Generation Z. Moderated by Noor Azmy, Rian began the discussion by giving participants a provocative question about their feelings towards the rapid advancement of technology.
In the end, the interactive discussion and question and answer session drew a common thread related to modern era education in building a bridge between tradition and transformation. With various competent and experienced speakers, seminar participants gained many thoughts and ideas as well as positive insights that can improve skills in student self-development. Through this National Seminar, it is hoped that it can open students’ insights about the importance of preserving Banjar culture in an effort to improve the quality of regional education in Banjarmasin.
