Thematic KKN Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences Produces Various Processed Fish Products
Banjarbaru – The implementation of the Thematic Community Service Program (KKN) of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Lambung Mangkurat University (FPIK ULM) has ended without a trace. This activity has been held for 1 month starting from July 19 to August 19, 2024. Therefore, the Rector together with the Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences welcomed the students home by holding a Seminar and Closing of the 2024 Thematic KKN on Sunday (1/9/2024) at the FPIK Banjarbaru Hall.
The Chairperson of the FPIK ULM Thematic KKN Committee, Ir. H. Ahmad Murjani, M.S explained that this activity felt different from the previous year. This is due to the assistance and support, both material and moral, especially the funds provided to realize the work program. The 2024 FPIK Thematic KKN Fund Assistance is provided in full by the University so that both students and DPL do not need to think about the costs of running the work program. This was reaffirmed by the ULM Rector that the full funding policy has been arranged in such a way as to be able to support the implementation of good Thematic KKN and be beneficial to the community.
A total of 256 students participated in this Thematic KKN which was divided into 16 groups. The 16 groups have a total of 128 Work Programs where each group has at least 8 work programs created by the KKN participants together with the Field Supervisor Lecturer (DPL) and the Community. The results of the implementation of this KKN are in the form of processed products made from fish, fish farming technology with secondary crops to solve the problem of stunting in districts/cities. Students also conduct socialization to raise public awareness in managing aquatic resources, and guidance on making and reading disaster maps.
In line with the policy of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, how students at each university can organize Thematic KKN and at the same time support the implementation of the Independent Learning Campus Merdeka Program (MBKM) at every university throughout Indonesia. Therefore, the Chancellor hopes that this activity will continue continuously. He appreciated and was very proud of all the efforts that had been carried out well by FPIK. This was proven by his enthusiasm in trying every product of the Thematic KKN of FPIK Students in the form of processed fish such as mackerel fish crackers and nuggets.
