ULM Supports the Inauguration of the “Katuju” MSME House, Commemorating the 20th Treasury Service Day
Banjarmasin – As a form of synergy between Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) and the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Treasury of South Kalimantan Province, the Rector of ULM, represented by Vice Rector II Dr. Ir. Arief Rahmad Maulana Akbar, M.Sc., IPU and Vice Rector IV Dr. Ir. Yusuf Azis, M.Sc was present at the Invitation for the Inauguration of the MSME House and Funwalk in commemoration of the 20th Treasury Service Day 2024 on Friday (7/6/2024).
The event, which took place in the DJPb Regional Office Hall of South Kalimantan Province, was a momentum to commemorate the dedication and commitment of all treasury personnel for two decades as well as providing support to small and medium businesses through the inauguration of the “Katuju” UMK house.
The name “Katuju” which was attached to the UMKM House was notarized by the Regional Head of DJPb, South Kalimantan Province, Syafriadi, taken from the Banjar language which means happy. With the hope that its existence will provide pleasure and happiness for the people involved in it.
MSMEs themselves have a contribution to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of 61.07 percent or IDR 8,573.89 trillion. The contribution of MSMEs to the Indonesian economy includes the ability to absorb 97 percent of the total existing workforce, contribute 14.4 percent of exports, and can collect up to 60.4 percent of total investment.
Vice Rector II and IV of ULM strongly support activities which are considered as a form of optimizing state assets owned by the government in order to accommodate MSMEs to carry out their business activities. It is known that one of the tenants who take shelter in the “Katuju” MSME house is a business operating in the culinary sector.
The inauguration of the MSME house began with a leisurely “Funwalk” with the invitees, which was then carried out with a ribbon cutting by the South Kalimantan Regional Head of DJPb and the Head of the South Kalimantan Cooperatives and UMKM Service. It is hoped that this activity will have a positive impact on economic growth in Indonesia
“Therefore, government support for MSMEs needs to be optimized in order to realize quality and sustainable economic growth in Indonesia,” said Syafriadi
