The Rector Leads Joint Direction and Prayers Ahead of the Implementation of the XVIIIth POMNAS in 2023
Banjarmasin – Towards the implementation of the XVIII National Student Sports Week (POMNAS) 2023 in South Kalimantan Province, Lambung Mangkurat University as the host organizer carried out a briefing and joint prayer agenda on Wednesday (08/11/2023). This event was held at the General Building of ULM Banjarmasin, attended by the entire committee, Liaison Officer (LO), and led directly by the Rector of ULM Prof. Dr. Ahmad., S.E., M.Si. This agenda was also attended by the Chair of BAPOMI South Kalimantan who is also the Vice Rector for Student and Alumni Affairs at ULM Dr. Muhammad Rusmin Nuryadin, SE., M.Sc., together with the Deputy of BAPOMI South Kalimantan.
On this occasion, the Rector gave a welcoming speech and said that he had high hopes for the entire committee and all LOs on duty to be able to work together to provide the best service in this POMNAS activity.
“Coordination and communication are easy to do to create synergy between the committee, coaches, officials.” Said the Rector.
The LO is tasked with being a liaison between guests and the committee to communicate with each other and coordinate for the success of an event. LO is part of public relations whose job is to create and build good relationships between guests and organizers. Therefore, it is appropriate for LO to have a character that reflects his duties, namely polite and courteous. In his implementation, LO is expected to be able to maintain etiquette in welcoming and directing guests by synergizing with the organizing committee in order to provide a positive face for South Kalimantan in activities big this year. Therefore, the LO’s task is not only to welcome and direct guests but also to reduce negative things that could impact South Kalimantan as the host of the XVIIIth POMNAS.
According to the Rector, POMNAS is a national gathering event between students from various PTNs in Indonesia. The opportunity to introduce oneself as a part of Indonesian society’s identity that deserves respect from others will build a positive image, on the other hand, he said, if it fails to be portrayed, it will have the opposite impact.
“The momentum of POMNAS must be maintained. “I hope that we work together, build synergy, togetherness, solidarity for the implementation of POMNAS,” said the Rector.
